What is the starting salary for a college graduate from the computer engineering program in canada? and how often do they get raises? is it easy to advance to a higher level in this career? and is raises based on years of experience or productivity?
Starting salary can be anything from minimum wage to $60,000 a year. It depends on how much experience outside of school you gave yourself while at school. If you came out of school, having done nothing but what the school asked you to do, welcome to a career in sales at the Future Shop.
It is very easy to rise fast. Promotions have zero to do with amount of time served. They have to do with productivity and sheer outright brilliance. Basically by how much value added you provde your employed. Except in the employ of the government.

Engineering Your Career: Courses and Degrees in Engineering Online
When you start an online engineering degree program, you position yourself for exciting career options--not to mention some extremely interesting engineering courses. Engineers work across most of the employment spectrum, offering their services in design and implementation of solutions that make for a more efficient world. Depending on their specialties, engineers work in high technology, business, finance, science, healthcare, civil engineering and infrastructure, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and the government.
Earning an Engineering Degree Online
Students who are drawn to the engineering professions are often inquisitive, love to solve problems, and have a keen interest in computers. They like to research solutions, test their findings, and trouble-shoot technology as it is applied. If you don't think engineering is a diverse field that attracts a wide range of thinkers, consider this: There are 17 different engineering specialties listed in the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system maintained by the Federal Government.
Admissions requirements and pre-requisites for engineering programs may include previous coursework in mathematics (through calculus), hard science (chemistry, biology, physics), and general education in the liberal arts and humanities.
Most engineers find their way into their profession by completing a bachelor's degree. Online engineering courses at the undergraduate level prepare students with a foundation in physical science, mathematics, and life sciences, while additional engineering courses expose undergrads to a range of disciplines, including:
Depending on your chosen discipline, you can also pursue post-graduate work in an applied field within engineering to qualify for management or leadership roles in research or teaching.
Engineering Career Outlook
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that engineering employment will grow by 11 percent during the 2006-2016 decade, with a large spike of 21 percent of the new jobs created in the booming field of biomedical engineering. Jobs for environmental engineers also look especially good, according to the BLS, with a 25 percent rise in employment predicted for the 2006-2016 decade.
Double-digit employment increases are also predicted for engineers in marine sciences, mining, aerospace, civil engineering, and health and safety professions. Fields in materials, electrical, computer hardware, and chemical engineering should undergo growth, too, but at less than 10 percent over the 2006-2016 decade.
Earnings in Engineering
Starting salaries for engineering grads, the BLS reports, are traditionally higher than entry level pay for most other professions. However, most engineers are expected to continue their educations to remain competitive in the workplace as systems and software continues to evolve.
Here are the median, 2008 annual earnings for engineers by discipline as reported by the BLS:
Even with slowdowns in the economy, the BLS reports, engineers are indispensable employees within companies, schools, and laboratories, undertaking long-term research and development, making engineering a powerful career choice.

Civil engineering has become one of the most lucrative jobs today. Large numbers of students are taking admission in various top-class engineering colleges around the world. A civil engineer's job not only includes whole lot of challenges and creativity, it also promises a good salary and high positions.
Civil engineering is one of the toughest jobs, involving lots of field work, research and planning. An experienced civil engineer gets a salary starting from around $75,000. A fresher generally gets lesser than what an experienced engineer can demand.
According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, a Pennsylvania-based popular non-profit professional association, civil engineering graduates got an average starting salary offer of $52,443, as recorded in April 2010. During recession, when most professionals saw a declining salary range, civil engineers enjoyed a good hike, with civil engineering graduates having a 1.3% salary rise.

Other US states where civil engineers gets a good pay-package are Louisiana, offering salary of $88,970, California - salary $87,180, Nevada - $85,820 and Delaware ready to pay $85,710 as salary to the civil engineers.
With experience and skill, salary of civil engineers keeps on rising. The pace of rise is steady unlike that of other professions worldwide. A highly experienced and qualified civil engineer can even demand a remuneration of $120,000 per annum.
In the government sector, the salary of civil engineers is good. In India, civil engineers working for the government get salary of around Rs. 8,000 to Rs.12, 000. With time and experience, the salary can go up to Rs 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month. Civil engineers working for private companies usually get a monthly salary of around Rs 30,000, and experienced command monthly salary of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000.
Civil engineers working as consultants also get a good salary in public as well as private sectors in India and abroad.
Civil engineers working in certain specialized areas such as infrastructure, environment, etc, involving greater risks, fetch a good salary. Also, salaries of civil engineers depend on the type or length of project he or she is working for.
Many a times, government offers grants and assistance to civil engineers. For instance, government of many countries provides benefit like paying education loans to students who work in government projects. Civil engineering happens to be one of the most secure jobs available on this planet, with very little chance of remaining jobless. There is great scope of growth in terms of position and salary for civil engineers.

Online Arizona - Mesa Auto Education - Defining How The Automobile Internal Combustion Engine Works
The internal combustion engine was invented in 1890 by Wilhelm Maybach. This was a 4 cylinder, four stroke engine. Many vehicles of today are using his basic design. Major engine improvements have taken mold, as the internal combustion engine has evolved. The basic operation of your auto engine is four to eight pistons are violently manipulated by an explosion of an Air/Fuel mixture careening the piston and connecting rod; moving the crankshaft, creating rotary inertia (circular motion). These circular movements are then converted into kinetic inertia (forward movement) through the transmission and power-train. I will now explain the 4 strokes of the internal combustion engine, read more.
Stroke 1: The Intake Stroke - Air and fuel are drawn into the combustion chamber with the intake valve open. At this time the exhaust valve is closed.
Stroke 2: Compression Stroke - Both valves being closed the fuel mixture that was drawn in from stroke 1 will be compressed. Preparing the air and fuel to be ignited.
Stroke 3: The Power Stroke - At the beginning of this stroke the ignition device or "spark plug" will be given generated electricity. This event may be equivalent to a grenade exploding inside the cylinder.
Stroke 4: Exhaust Stroke - The final stroke of the internal combustion engine. At the end of the power stroke the exhaust valve will open evacuating the cylinder as the pistons push the gases through the tail pipe.
The automotive internal combustion engine has driven automobiles since it was invented. These engines will continue to drive our autos into the future, as its efficiency has evolved. For more more education on automotive operation and repair visit some mesa auto works AZ

Engineering Recruitment is one of the fields rowing rapidly within the business communities for outsourcing purposes. In simple words, outsourcing is to put your work load on someone else’s shoulder without having to worry about the costs incurred on that specific outsourced task, and the resources (labour, space, equipment) essential to carry out that specific outsourced task.
You need professional services in order to perform tasks well, similarly like you call upon a mechanic when your car breaks down or you seek doctor’s advice when you’re not feeling well. Obviously you do not stand up and fix these problems yourself, because you are not well capable of doing so like the professionals, and you know it too. By outsourcing your recruitment process to an engineering recruitment agency, or part of your HR process, you can not only reduce costs tremendously but you can also notice positivity about the standard of employees your organization is getting.
Having one skilled resource is way profitable than having a swarm of unprofessional workers, and making the right choice about who is capable enough and who’s not is not an easy task at all. With business goals to pursue, a business owner cannot simultaneously spend time on interviewing people for hiring purposes and looking after business growth. A cost effective and time saving choice in this case would be to outsource your recruitment management to professionals who can decide better the technical soundness of a certain resource.
There is an obvious difference between the candidate you select and the candidate a recruitment firm can select for you. You may fall in for an applicant showing you brilliant CV made by fallacy, but the firm knows how to read between the lines and separate fallacy from genuinely. To judge the body language, confidence level, actual experience, and professional soundness of a person is not something you can do on your own. While the outsourcing recruitment specialists can do this on their fingertips—hey, it’s their job right? And they do this every second of the day! Outsourcing your recruitment management is good if you want to:
• Lower costs which may be endured in establishing a full fledge HR department for recruitment purposes • Reduce time to focus on core business growth and other important issues facing the business • Get yourself exposed to a number of job seekers round the globe • Attract the best pool of skilled workforce for your organization • Short listing CV’s to extract the best applicant for the engineering job
We all know, it’s the people who can make or break any organization and even one wrong hiring can be extremely devastating. If you are in search for reliable partners to outsource your recruitment tasks with, and who can understand your corporate culture like their own, please contact PeopleTek.co.uk.

Any engineering would be fine. I'm thinking of becoming an engineer, but don't know which one. Can someone offer their perspective of their engineer career? thanks.
Hi,
Im a site engineer for a large construction company in the UK. You can go down this career path by completing a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering for large construction companies, and there are less demanding courses to get a start with smaller companies i.e. setting-out courses etc.
Its an interesting and challenging career path to go down. Each day revolves around dealing with technical problems and coming up with the solutions. Due to the complexity and diversity of the construction industry, every day is different and no two projects will be the same...which keeps it interesting. You will also be mostly site based with a little office work to do, which means that your not stuck indoors all the time.
Site engineering generally involves a large part of setting-out, which means taking the design from drawings and marking it out on the ground. You must then monitor the construction to make sure it is being built correctly. You must also monitor progress and make sure it is completed within the time frame (making sure you have adequate resources). So there is a large element of management also. Everything has to be documented for quality assurance reasons so you will be responsible for all kinds of records keeping. You will also have a large part to play towards health and safety as engineers are probably the most site based members of the team...and trust me, that's a job in itself (construction is the 2nd of all industries for the most fatalities and injuries each year; 2nd to agriculture)
For this career, you need a good technical mind, some management skills and you need to be assertive...nearly aggressive. It is a very fast paced job. The pay is well, but you will probably be working long hours, at the very least 50hrs a week. If you have the above skills you will enjoy it though, and like I said earlier, it is a very interesting job.
You can progress in you career to project management and contract management, and you can even branch off into structural, design, environmental engineering...there are loads.
In this article, we are going to talk about how you can make your job search in Austria as easy as possible.
The first and most obvious thing is to see what you can find with the help of a job search engine. Job search engines work like any other search engine only that instead of letting you search among websites, it let's you search among job postings. Some job search engines will only find you jobs that are listed on their site and some will show you jobs from many different job sites across the internet.
Another thing you can do when you are looking for jobs in Austria is having a look at more niched job boards. There are many different ones out there and what you do is simply think about what career you are interested in and then you find a job board that will cater to that market. This is smart because you will be able to find a wider selection of jobs that interest you instead of having to wade through a lot of offers that are not even that interesting to you.
If you don't have any success with the job search engines or with job boards, you can always try networking. If you know people in Austria, that's great! Start by asking them if they know about any available jobs. If you don't know anyone in Austria, that's okay to. Maybe you know someone who knows someone in Austria. What I mean is that you should try to pull some strings. Look in the social circles where you wouldn't look normally and leave no stone unturned. You might get lucky!
Then there's the part of how you present yourself when searching for a job in Austria. Start by taking a look at your email address. If it's something along the lines of niceguy22@gmail.com or prettygirl33@gmail.com you should probably change it. To be professional, just make it your real name instead of some nickname.
If an employer in Austria is seriously considering to hire you, they will most probably Google your name. Therefor, you need to google yourself and see what comes up. Do you like what you see? And most importantly, do you think a future employer will like what they see? If you find something there that might scare an employer off, consider starting a blog in your own name and try to outrank those bad pages. This leads me to the next point.
Why not start a blog about yourself as a professional? Not only will this encourage an employer, there's also a good chance it will outrank anything you don't want an employer to find out about you through Google. When searching for a job in Austria, you really need to think about first impressions. Why not make the employers first impression professional and not about something you don't want the employer to know about.
These are some basic tips when you are on the look out for a job in Austria. At the end of they day it's the same thing as everywhere else. Try to present yourself in a professional and polite manner and you should do fine.
This article is written by Nadia who has deep experience in Job Search in Austria. Jobs.Renego.at is a meta jobsearch engine presented in 12 countries worldwide and helps people find fast new Homework jobs in Austria.

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate] What Should you bring a cover letter to an engineering job fair?would you like to ask?
I'm going to an engineering job fair at my school. I have a general cover letter, but I was wondering if I should bring it to the job fair. Most of the companies have so many people coming that I doubt they will have time (or want to) actually read a cover letter.
Should I give them my resume and cover letter when they ask for my resume or just give them my resume only?
It's always been my understanding that cover letters are supposed to be tailored to the job you seek, so I don't really see the point of a general cover letter...it couldn't hurt, but I doubt it'll help.

The most sought after profession in the past few years has been the engineer. The reason for this is that technology seems to be all around us. All parts of our lives are controlled by technology including cooking, cleaning, cell phones, and power for our homes. In spite of this however, graduates from engineering schools still have a difficult time finding a good paying job. Engineering jobs are available for those who know how and where to look for them. There are numerous opportunities for graduates to find jobs with long contracts and good salaries. However, the graduate needs to have the right credentials. In most cases, an engineering job in the USA require that the graduate to have a minimum of a degree or a diploma in engineering from a recognized university or college or university. Many graduates end up with degree and diploma certificates which are not acceptable in the USA for various reasons. This can make it impossible for you to get a good job, even with the best grades. You should understand that experience is much more important than education when you are looking an engineering job. It may be hard for you to apply all of the math equations and theories in practice and many people perform poorly in the real world even if they had good grades in school. One way to offset this disadvantage is to do internships with large or small engineering firms during the holidays. This additional experience will make for a better resume. Most engineering firms in the USA companies advertise for their available positions online. This makes it much less expensive and easier for an applicant to find an engineering job in the USA. Other methods of finding an engineering job include networking, looking for positions in the newspaper, and taking resumes to various engineering firms in addition to looking on the Internet. Many of the jobs that are available on the Internet either be handled by email or handed in on a form that is prepared by the engineering firm. In either case you will save a lot of effort and time if you have a paper copy of your resume that you have prepared previously ready. The most important thing that you can do when you are looking for a job is research. When you prepare your cover letter and resume, you should use the advice that is available on job search websites. This will make these items look more professional. Don't forget that your cover letter and resume are what make the first impression on the employer.
