What would be a good cad drawing program to learn with?
i would prefer a basic free program to learn 2D CAD
Definitely AutoCAD. You can get the free trial at the AutoDesk website and it's the FULL functioning version of the software. The trial lasts for 30 days. Before or after you try AutoCAD, you can give this program a shot:

I haven't really used any CAD software besides AutoCAD, so I can't really review any for you, but that one looks decent.
Hey Ryan, Anim8tor looks cool, but what kind of CAD capabilities does it have? It looks like a dedicated 3D modeling software.
