5 Hot 2012 Models Coming Your Way!
5 Hot 2012 Models Coming Your Way!
You may be shopping for a new car right now, enjoying the 2010 free 3d model and whichever 2011 cars have already hit the market. Among the newest cars out there are the Ford Fiesta, Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Hyundai Sonata.
As important as these cars are for their respective segments, there are five 2012 free 3d model headed your way, passenger vehicles which will begin to hit the market in early 2011. Yes, go ahead and shop for a new car, but keep in mind what is coming down the pike too. You just may want to wait a year to get one of several hot 2012 model year cars.
Alfa Romeo Guilietta -- Alfa Romeo is back thanks to parent Fiat's acquisition of Chrysler. The Fiat 500, an exciting 2011 model will arrive first, but the Alfa brand will be back soon thereafter, selling the Giulietta through Chrysler dealerships beginning early 2012. This premium compact features a 1.4L I4 turbo-charged engine with a strut front suspension and multi-link rear. Powered by its front wheels, the Guilietta will blend performance, comfort and top notch fuel economy.
Cadillac ATS -- Finally, an all new baby Cadillac hits the market in the form of the ATS. Like the larger CTS, this car will be powered by its rear wheels and be offered in sedan, coupe and, if we're lucky, cabriolet body styles. The Cimarron and Catera, earlier unsuccessful Cadillac forays into the compact car market, will likely be forgotten when the ATS hits. Powered by turbocharged 14 engine, this Caddy will take on the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C Class and Lexus IS. Expect a late 2011 arrival for the all new Caddy.
Ford C-Max -- How can a crossover possibly be exciting? Well, when it features an EcoBoost four cylinder engine, dual-clutch transmission and three rows of seats, the Ford C-Max shouldn't have much difficulty turning heading. And if that isn't enough, the Focus platform based model, itself updated for 2012, should compare favorably with the Mazda5, the segment's darling model.
Buick Regal GS -- Remember the Buick Grand National? That late 1980s era car was the sporting version of the Buick Regal, a model that single-handedly raised the visibility of the Buick brand. When GM discontinued the Grand National, the Buick brand declined, which means that mostly everyone equates Buicks with old people. The Regal GS is designed to change all that, offering a high output turbocharged 2.0L I4 with 20 inch wheels, body kit and bigger brakes, attributes which should help Buick show its performance side once again.
Tesla Free 3d Model S -- The second model in the Tesla line up is the S model, a four-door electric sedan that will bring Tesla Roadster goodness to the masses. Well, not exactly. Unlike the Roadster which is underpinned by a Lotus platform, this all new five to seven passenger sedan should offer a 300 mile range with an optional battery pack and zip the car from zero to sixty in 5.6 seconds. Arriving in late 2011, Tesla promises to hold the price under $60K after government rebates.
Each of the models rolling out for the 2012 model year breaks new ground or at least takes a common theme and finds a way to enhance it. If these cars aren't worth your wait, then buy now. Otherwise, hold on for 2013 because more all new models featuring advanced engineering, cutting-edge technology and out of this world design will most certainly follow

Cad Model
Designing with 3D CAD Models
When products are designed using 3D CAD data, there are many benefits compared to using only 2D data.Technology, and the easy access we have to it has allowed us to gain the following benefits when designing:-
(1) We can directly import finished 3D data into maching centres, that enable us to produce a finished production ready component, straight from the computer. These allows us to evauate the design, or use it in a production situation. The data can also be used to machine tooling tooling dies that can be used in plastic moulding or die cast manufacturing industries.
(2) There many different CAD programmes to choose from when designing in 3D. Programmes like Solidworks, Inventor, Proengineer and Autocad, all have the capability to effectively produce excellent design data, and the formats they use, allow the reading of each others data files. This is good, as different programmes have strengths and weaknesses with the manipulation and processing of data.
(3) For visualisation of a design, the data can also be used in the manufacture of rapid prototypes or 3D prints. The rapid prototypes can be used to help evaluate the design of a product, by checking the functionality and full movement when assembled, and for checking working part clearances. The aesthetics of the design can also be evaluated, as the rapid prototype is able to be held instead of only viewed on a computer screen. Once the design evaluation process is complete, tooling can then be machined from the data.
(4) Cost is a significant part of the design process, and significant savings can be achieved from evaluating a design in 3D. Once the design has been proven, and part clearances have been finalised, tooling can be machined from the data, which will give the correct sizes post manufacture. With older technology, and hand machining of tooling, there would be a need for modification to achieve correct sizing. Repeatability of sizing for multiple cavitation could also not be guaranteed, and this all added cost to the final design of the product.
With the use of 3D CAD design, cost reductions are achieved, and designs are bought to production quicker.

Getting Started in Heat-applied Graphics
What makes the opportunity for heat applied graphics such a winner? Consider the importance of branding in our society. Everyone from burger vendors to corporate players wears clothing with a company logo – and they probably also need items ranging from mouse mats and coffee mugs to caps, and awards plaques – all with the company logo!
Of course, these opportunities are multiplied if you are already in business as an embroiderer, screen printer, sign writer or other type of embellisher. You already have the customers: adding heat-applied graphics means that you can sell them even more products – everything from coasters to caps. If it fits on a platen, you can heat apply an image to it.
Additions or alternatives
It is known in marketing that it’s easier to sell more to one person than it is to sell goods to more people, so why not sell your existing customers more? It also means you can offer multi-media graphics with a high perceived value. Combine embroidery with a heat applied digital transfer image, for example. Another plus: you can easily offer just one or two items which can be cost prohibitive with other decoration processes. With screen printing it doesn’t make financial sense to do jobs of less than say 40 pieces or so, but it makes perfect sense to do them using a heat press. Add to that the service advantage of being able to complete the transaction “right now” – to be able to take the order and almost immediately deliver the goods, without the time and labour intensity of either printing or embroidery.
And if you don’t offer screen printing in-house, a heat press gives you an affordable option to add to that service. You can order screen printed stock or custom transfers and heat apply them on an as-needed basis. Screen printed transfers can be applied to cotton, polyester and even nylon substrates.
Numerous other options
Here’s a rundown of some of the many other embellishment options available to you with heat applied graphics.
Die-cut numbers and letters: By ordering stock numbers and letters from suppliers, or using a cutter to make up your own, you can tap into the sports market by doing team shirts and similar items. Material options are extensive and include adhesive vinyl and film, allowing you to affix the material to a variety of substrates.
Digital transfers: Using an inkjet, laser or thermal-output device, you can output digital transfers and heat apply them to an enormous number of substrates. This option provides terrific flexibility and lets you quickly and easily apply photo-realistic images onto apparel, metal, wood, leather, ceramics and coated materials.
Inkjet printers that use water-based inks are a less expensive option to get started with this arena. Dye sublimation, on the other hand, is renowned for its colour accuracy and vibrancy. However, it does require that the substrate have a polyester content or coating, and it works best on white garments. Sublimation transfers are produced on two types of printers – sublimation laser or inkjet.
CAD-Cutting: There is a wide range of materials for use with digital cutters, which makes them a very versatile option. Choose from vinyls and films in solid colours, glitters, metallic, holographic, reflective and even glow-in-the-dark! You can cut out anything, from letters and numbers to any logo or other shape. Furthermore, you can even do signs with CAD cutting, using self adhesive vinyls.
One limitation here is colour. A CAD cutter can only cut one colour at a time; generally, stacking two layers adds weight to the wearable making it heavier and affecting comfort. Another option would be to cut each colour area separately and piece the design together (by butt-registering). This will keep the handle lighter, but it is considerably more work. Still, this option is a great one for medium-volume markets that demand quick turnaround such as sports teams and restaurants.
Essentially, there are two types of cutter for this process: a traditional cutter and a printer/cutter, the latter combining printing and cutting into a single unit. Either way, you should look for a unit that’s at least 60cms wide so that you can tackle a wider array of jobs. Some relatively newer units come equipped with an optical “eye” that lets you contour cut around an image’s registration marks – very useful.
Embossing: This process – which involves putting a die under a garment and imprinting a design into the fabric using extreme pressure – actually requires a special type of heat press. It can be somewhat expensive, as the dies can cost several hundred pounds to produce: however for high-volume orders, it can be profitable and offers a unique option.
Heat Presses
Heat presses generally start at about £500 for a reputable light-weight, small sized model, and can go up to £2500 for a pneumatic-powered high production machine. Mid range presses are generally in the £600-1000 range, which is what a typical heat applied graphics business would need. Inevitably, you do get what you pay for. The better machines, though marginally more expensive, usually last longer and are manufactured to much higher standards to provide years of trouble free use.
While presses are available with a range of features including digital versus analogue controls, auto pop-up, presets and removable power cords, there are really three key heat press functions to keep in mind: it must accurately provide time, temperature and pressure.
Accurate temperature is an absolute must. If you machine is out by only 10 degrees plus or minus, it can ruin an application. As you might guess, lower end units have less accurate, less reliable temperature mechanisms, while higher end machines have correspondingly better control. Smooth, even pressure is also critical. If pressure isn’t applied evenly, the design isn’t applied evenly, resulting in less than optimal results.
Some substrates offer built-in obstacles to even pressure: the zipper on a hoodie sweatshirt for example. Thankfully, suppliers offer tools to deal with such challenges. For instance, you can put a Teflon® covered pillow on top of an item, in-between the layers, to help even things out, while print pads may be used to help build up low-lying areas. Other considerations while shopping for a heat press include the following:
Configuration: A swing away press gives you free range of movement, when loading and unloading the substrate, and keeps the heated platen away from fingers making it safer to use; whereas a clamshell unit takes up far less space. Swingaways also tend to be heavy making them less portable.
Speciality presses: Suppliers offer heat presses made specifically for unusual shape items – such as coffee mugs or caps – as well as multi-purpose presses. Suppliers also make custom platens for unusual substrates such as umbrellas and shoes.
Manual and semi-automatic: Semi-automatic presses pop up automatically following the application, thanks to either magnetic/electronic technology or an air compressor, while manual presses have to be physically opened when a timer signals complete application. For higher production, it pays to consider a semi-automatic press from the stand point of sheer physical exhaustion.
Dual-platen presses: If you want to crank out as many units as possible in the least time, you may want to consider a dual-platen press which lets you work on two items simultaneously, setting up the next item on one platen, while the item on the other platen is being pressed.
Prices: Cap presses start at or around £500, while heat presses for shirts and other flat items start at about £600. These prices obviously depend upon the size and facilities of the press. The most popular press size is either 40 x 40cms or 40 x 50cms and typically sells for about £800-1000 and upwards.
A model like no other
What makes heat applied graphics so attractive is that you can get into business with nothing but a heat press, a computer and Internet access (in order to order and download designs and substrates). Few business models are so affordable, exciting, creative, easy………….. and profitable!

Free Autocad
Free autocad architecture tutorial?
Is there any place I could find a free autocad architecture turorial? (that doesn't assume I know anything about cad... because I don't... lol)
I have a trial version, and I want to learn to use it.
With a trial version the tutorials should be included very good tutorials by Autodesk. They can be found via the help menu or you maybe invited to do them the first time you open AutoCAD. They can also be found here on the internet:
In addition (if you don't like the Autodesk ones ) there are many tutorials online. Check out this link for a range of them or just gooogle cad tutorials : http://www.cadalot.co.uk/acad/links.htm
Remember drawing in a computer in scale-less ie in generic units. You can choose to imagine that a unit is one meter, millimetre or foot - whichever is most appropriate for you- and start drawing elements in their real world dimensions. Drawing takes place in an infinite Cartesian space (X and Y coordinates) so although there is an origin which useful for referring drawings to each other, just start drawing wherever you want as in AutoCAD this does not affect the performance of the program.
MINI TUTORIAL
1. Drawing elements such as LINES, CIRCLES forms the basis of a drawing. Select the command, point where you want to start and where to finish.
2. You can then MOVE and COPY them in a myriad of ways by using buttons on the toolbar. OFFSET (copy parallel) is a very useful command for architecture.
3. TEXT are also an essential to make your good drawing contain useful information. Importantly you can use the tools in the dimension menu to save a lot of time.
4. These elements are typically drawn on or placed into LAYERS which like layers of tracing paper allow you to structure the information you have drawn. eg. walls, text, windows.
5. Using color and different styles of line helps visual communication. This can be by element or as is more common BYLAYER make it easier to manage many lines together.
4. You can further organise the lines into groups called BLOCKS which can be inserted repeatedly to increase efficiency.
5. Cleanly joining elements together makes for legible and easily editable drawings. For this you can automatically SNAP onto parts of other elements such as the endpoint, intersection or center. AutoCAD has many other such drawing aids.
6. Finally Printing or Plotting is achieved by marking the area desired, assigning typically a width of line to a color of layer and setting the ratio between the units and the printed millimeters of the output (ie. the scale).
All these can become complicated themes as each in evolution of AutoCAd more features are added to 'assist' the user. However for the moment that's all you should need...

Hi everyone.. where can i download auto cad 3d models that i can efficiently work in autocad 2010?
hi everyone.. where can i download auto cad 3d models that i can efficiently work in autocad 2010???? am not asking about 3dx max models....i just want 3d models in auto cad 2010 like cars, buildings, apartments, interior designs all such things....so any websites... pls sugest and help me......
In 2007, I went searching the web for the same purpose but the models (including 3ds) aren't good enough in quality and most of them are a mess to work with in autocad. I grew frustrated, not until I found sketchup, where you can export a model to .dwg or .dxf format. I even switch to it when I go 3d. There are plenty of quality models to download and the software I think is the easiest 3d application I ever tried.

Autocad Electric
AutoCad drawing question.?
What is the best way to draw a 2 dimensional sprial (like the heating element on an electric stove)?
Create a series of concentric circles and then connect the outer one to the closest inner one with arcs. Then simply break off the parts of the circles not included in the spiral and delete. Connect the stray ends if there are any, or simply break them off too.

Cad Software Reviews
Global market review of foundation brakes – forecasts to 2017
The apparently simple issue of braking continues to be a major issue for engineers. Drivers are, of course, concerned that in an emergency, their vehicles should stop as quickly as possible. There is a practical limit to braking performance, set by the ability of the tyre contact patches to transmit the forces involved without sliding. However, advances in tyre design, soon to be complemented by the ability of electronically controlled braking systems to distribute effort according to wheel load (if, for example, the brakes are applied while the vehicle is cornering), mean that limit is now potentially very high, at least on dry road surfaces. This is throwing the onus very much back to the braking system developers.
The forces driving innovation in foundation braking are:
weight reduction
residual torque reduction
NVH continuous improvements
performances
style
mechatronics
Brake manufacturers continue to focus on designs that improve brake feel and reduce engineering costs. Executives at Continental's hydraulic brake systems business told just-auto: "One means of saving weight when designing brake components is to replace materials such as cast iron or steel, with lighter materials, such as aluminium, other light alloys or even plastic. However, the use of alternative materials is currently restricted to aluminium since extremely high demands are made of these materials. During its life, a brake will be operated several million times, subjecting it to great pressure; the material is also exposed to moisture and road salt and so far only cast iron, steel and aluminium have shown that they are able to cope with such demanding conditions. More efficient design techniques and intelligent lightweight construction can produce slimmed-down components without limiting their functionality. Specialised CAD software makes it possible to optimise component structures on the computer."
Following Chapter 1's Introduction, Chapter 2 The market, provides an overview of latest market trends and profiles the major OE manufacturers. It goes on to provide manufacturers' OE market shares by region and we update just-auto's product fitment forecasts, predicting in some detail how the OE market volume for brake disc and drums will evolve in Europe, Japan and North America from 2007 through to 2017.
This chapter includes exclusive, lengthy interviews with senior executives of Brembo, Continental, and TRW.
Chapter 3 Technical review
This chapter sets out a review of recent innovations in the foundation brakes arena. This chapter includes an exclusive interview with IFR Automotive.
Extract:
j-a: In what ways do hybrid and electric vehicles change future braking system requirements?
Continental: Working in conjunction with a hybrid drive system, [Continental´s Regenerative Brake System] allows energy recovery during braking. The basic concept and the components of conventional brakes are broadly kept the same.
The generator function contained in the vehicle's hybrid drive initially takes over the braking function and converts the braking energy into electricity to charge the battery. Only when the deceleration is not sufficient are the conventional brakes activated via the Regenerative Brake System. The SBA [Simulator Brake Actuation] simulator conveys optimum pedal feel to the driver at all times. The system is ideal for all hybrid vehicles as well as electric and fuel cell vehicles.
TRW: From a foundation braking perspective, nothing changes. From a brake control perspective, we have to be able to blend friction braking with regenerative braking for strong hybrids. TRW offers two systems – SCB (in production in the US), a vacuum-less hydraulic apply system; and ESC-R, which can be vacuum-based (for mid-upper segments) or vacuum-less (for small segments). As a hybrid or electric car does not have background noise, which can mask brake noise, there are also new NVH requirements to expect.
Chapter 4 Manufacturers
This chapter provides profiles of the major manufacturers, namely Advics, Akebono, Bosch, Brembo, Continental, Delphi and TRW.

Free Cad 2d
Which is the most suitable CAD program?
I'm looking for a free/open source CAD program. I'm an inventor and often want to sketch out an idea before I have any idea of dimensions, so I want to be able to add dimensions later and have the CAD system scale the drawing to fit the later dimensions. It needs to be able to create excellent line drawings, 2D and 3D renderings from any angle. Ray tracing would be nice too. I know of the existence of FreeCAD (the one by Juergen Riegel), and BRL-CAD, but have no idea whether either are suitable for my needs.
BRL-CAD is by far the closest to what you want, but you'll find yourself climbing a steep, difficult, and unfamiliar learning curve. BRL-CAD is really the only game in town that excels at line drawings, 2D/3D renderings from any angle, ray tracing, and is open source. That said, casual design sketching is not a strength of any open source CAD system and you'll find yourself struggling with even basic features.

Extending Possibilities With An AutoCAD Plugin
AutoCAD is an advanced design and drafting application that offers 2D and 3D design tools and can be used to design office spaces, buildings, and public spaces. It was one of the first Computer Aided Design applications to be released on personal computer and it has undergone numerous stages of evolution since its first release back in 1982. As such, it remains one of the most advanced and useful CAD packages on the market.
Extending AutoCAD
One of the benefits of AutoCAD is that it can be extended through the addition of various types of AutoCAD plugin. An AutoCAD plugin offers a means to automate certain processes, add new features that are designed for a very specific purpose, or extend the libraries of symbols and other designs that are included as part of the AutoCAD package.
Design
Some AutoCAD plugins are designed to enable the user to create their own library of symbols. An extended toolbox can provide users with the ability to make their own designs and hatch patterns. Hatch creation can be further extended with an AutoCAD plugin like GlobalCAD Hatch Manager. This enables you to create your own professional and highly detailed hatch designs so that you can incorporate them into any design and create images for any purpose.
Plugins For Specific Tasks
AutoCAD is a popular tool for landscape designers. The application itself provides many of the drafting tools that are needed but by expanding on this with an AutoCAD plugin like LandARCH you can benefit from extensive plant databases and even provide cost estimates that are created based on the drawings and designs that you create. It also includes masses of 2D and 3D libraries that enable you to create professional looking, cost effective, and accurate designs.
A Scheduling And Billing AutoCAD Plugin
Producing both schedules and bill of materials play a big part in the majority of designers' jobs. GlobalCAD Schedule is an advanced scheduling and billing AutoCAD plugin. Use dynamic spreadsheet links and combine these with your drawing data in order to create accurate and consistent estimates and invoices. You can even synchronise the data with Microsoft Excel so that you can store, manipulate, and work with the data however you like.

You can either try paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net/) or gimp (www.gimp.org). I have not used paint.net but have worked with gimp which is quiet good. You can also use google to get additional brushes for gimp.
