University for Automotive Engineering in Canada?

1. Which are the universities in Canada that have the automotive engineering program?
(apart from UOIT and Windsor)

2. Which is the best university for automotive engineering in Canada?

It would be kind of you to help me out. No funny answers please.

Any mechanical engineering program will do - you don't need to specialize in automotive necessarily. When at any mech. school, get involved in an automotive project - e.g., FSAE, solar car, Baja, etc. You'll learn everything you need to know doing that, and have great experience to showcase for potential employers too. It's far better to spend a couple of years building a car in a team-based environment than taking a bunch of classes to learn about building a car in abstract.

Why Ford Engines And Chrysler Engine Replacements

Any time you wield the thoughts of a perfect car that is highly powered, Chrysler and Ford engines come to mind. The Chrysler engine came into being in the 1930’s where it was one of the first ever cars to wield aerodynamic ideals in their design. In fact, the infamous Chrysler, the V8 Hemi engine entered the market in 1951. In addition, by 1961, Chrysler had downsized its brands line after dropping the nameplate, Desoto. Chrysler and Ford companies have been big names in the automotive industry that have transformed the world of vehicles, as we know it today.

In fact, from the 1960s to about 2003, engines from Chrysler were installed in passenger and commercial vehicles as well as other applications in need of the engine. The Chrysler engine models are Magnum based a feature that has been quite significant in offering designs that do bolt within the older muscle vehicles with zero or slight modification. They are a popular engine type that you should have no problem replacing.

Chrysler engines are immense, such as the Cirrus, Laser, 300 Crossfire, and the Chrysler Aspen among others. They represent the foreboding style in automobile manufacturing, with a high-powered performance that defines their longevity. For instance, the Chrysler Aspen is one of the latest members of the Chrysler family launched in 2007, as a sports utility car. In terms of the engine, the 2007 Chrysler Aspen has 3 engines, the 5,654, 4.7 and 4,701 cc V8. The Chrysler engine is not yet finished yet, since the latest of the Chrysler Aspen was released to various markets in 2009, wielding a 340 hp engine, carrying the hybrid systems that BMW and GM developed. However, this Chrysler version was discontinued after a legal process, meaning Chrysler has no SUV cars.

Apart from the thriving of the Chrysler engine, the Ford engines have been able to create a name and niche not only in the world of automobile engines but also in the vehicle industry. Ford is one of the most famous automobile names across the globe, with some very popular engines coming to the fore in the wake of its long history. Such is the V8 engine, Ford 351 Cleveland first came into being in 1969.

With the Chrysler engineand Ford engines, you have such infamous engines with high performance standards in any automobile market. However, you might find it expensive to replace these engines with new ones, meaning you might be in a dilemma, yet there is a way out. When it comes to an engine, the car might be forgotten as fast as possible but the engine will definitely be operational enough.

In the market today, there are superb used engines for both models that come with amicable warranties, while you only have to order and receive the engine at your home wherever you might be across the United States. You could get the used car engine at half the price of a new one while apart from the price alone, the rest of the specs are simply the same.

Smart Cars: the Future of Automobiles

Automobiles or cars are one of the most prevalent means of transportation in the present world and with the progress of time and enhancement of scientific technologies, various newer and innovative models of cars have emerged. Smart cars one of the recent innovations in the field of automobile engineering and it is a specialized car which makes use of artificial intelligence or AI for its functioning. These smart cars are more dependent on technology and technical skills and are aided in their functioning by computerized devices and automation technology. The experimentations with reference to the development of smart cars have led The European Commission to draw up a special program known as the Intelligent Car Flagship Initiative whose main aims include formation of smart cars having certain features like lane departure warning system, project AWAKE for lethargic drivers and Autonomous Cruise Control.

It is opined that the smart cars which will be devised and launched in the future will possess various advanced functions like satellite monitoring and position monitoring, self-parking and most significantly driverless commuting. In fact, various researchers have made premature claims that the smart cars of the future will be able to function without any form of interference from the point of view of the driver and will be able to cope with traffic hazards by means of infrared and wireless connections to decipher the road signs and signals while steering clear of accidents and making the right turns in case of road curves all by themselves. In fact it has been revealed that traveling among congested traffic is not going to be a difficult endeavor for the smart cars with the presence of the computerized engine management systems, wireless and GPS or global positioning system. one of the most important aims of the smart cars is to enable driverless commuting. This can be made possible in the future with the use of enhanced technical tools which permit their independent functioning with minimum interference form the driver and having alcohol locks for errant drivers and hypo-vigilance systems for the drowsy driers. Smart cars are also expected to ensure pollution control and possess anti-lock breaking systems. There are certain smart car ventures which have been launched for improving the level of intelligence. These include ComuniCar, SEVECOM, ADAS etc.

The perfect prototype of the smart car has been aptly represented in the sitcom Knight Rider as KITT. Some non-fictional smart car variants include Lexus LS and Mercedes-Benz Robot Cars.

What CAD program do I need to design a car, and the workings of it?

I have been sketching cars that I would like to build, I have the knowledge on how to build cars. I am looking for a program that I can design every aspect of the car from the body to the suspension, and then have the software show the suspension in motion, and allow me to engineer the car until everything is perfect. It would nice if the program could allow me to do aerodynamic testing also, and have it tell me the dimensions of everything so I could duplicate it in real life.

Well, an AutoCad machine can do some of that...but you're talking about some serious engineering equipment...seriously, the software alone can run you up to 10 grand...

And that's not including the specialized equipment you'd need.

And the training (this isn't point and click stuff...people who know how to use CAD software make very good money doing so).

Oh and getting it to do aero-tests...well, you're going to find yourself in search of an investor or two at that point.

Don't mean to rain on your parade...one of my very good friends teaches CAD...after doing it for a living for quite a while. He's made a good living for himself with that stuff, but he's never found anyone other than a corporation who could afford to implement it....
