Is there any way to plot certain lines in color on Autocad 2011 LT?
I know that when you create a layer and define it's color, all objects on that layer will be that color. And when you plot, it plots black and white because colors just represent lineweight for your current plot style. I was wondering however, if there was any way to select a few objects in the drawing and have them plot an actual color like red or green just so they stand out against the drawing. So for example you can follow a single red line in a drawing among many pipelines. If someone could help me out that would be great. Thanks again!
To have an object(s) plot with a specific color, change the color properties in the Plot Style Table Editor for the Plot Style Table (pen assignments) you are using:
1. Type PLOT at the command line.
2. In the upper right corner of the dialog box select a plot style from the Plot Style Table (grayscale.ctb, monochrome.ctb, etc.)
3. Click on the Edit tool button beside that plot style drop down box.
4. In the (Plot Style Table Editor) Form View tabs, select a color under the Plot Styles column that is not being used in your drawing (eg. Color 60).
5. In the properties column (Form View tabs), change the COLOR of that plot style to something other than black, like red or green (in the color drop down box)
6. Save & Close back to the drawing
7. Select the objects you want plotted in color.
8. Edit the properties of those object, change the color in the General section to the color in step 4 (eg. Color 60)
Note* Color 60 is not what is going to print, it will be the red or green you changed in the properties of the Plot Style Table Editor.

The easiest way to print multiple objects in color is to create a layer. A layer with the color the same as the (color in step 4) modified plot style. It’s a faster way to control all the objects you want to print in color.
