and now... My question about Microsoft Vista regarding performance?

I have been awaiting the release of Vista so I can finally buy my new custom PC...

Vista is pretty much a total unknown to me, except that its new, and since its new its probably better... right?

I have heard that Vista is very system demanding and my new PC build is going to be very heavily devoted towards speed/graphics (not just for games, but for my macromedia work, autocad etc etc)

Now... if Vista is going to be heavily system reliant, would I see a better performance keeping with XP ME2005?

Or on the other hand, will Vista in itself become a reliant program for future software design?

I only ask this as a total move from 98-xp has only recently been completed as such (this is in regards to software requirements).

Anyway, in short, would I see an improved performance on XP rather than Vista and (I dont want the microsoft speel either) what would my REAL benefits be from using Vista?

There are multiple compatibility issues with Nero 7 Premium 7.0.87, Diskeeper Pro Edition 9.0.503, ZoneAlarm Pro, ATI Desktop Component 6.14.10.5166, MS Works 8.4.621 and Nero Product Setup.The majority of these products have been designed with Vista in mind and I shouldn't be surprised if the manufacturers are not very happy with these issues.
The product itself is very pretty, has some impressive gadgets but is not going to change your life to any significant degree. If you are buying this in UK then you will get it for around USA price +40%. However, eBuyer are doing the Upgrade Download of the Basic for £52:00.
I have a copy for trial otherwise I would be waiting a while until they get the knots out of the string.

Advice: If the cost is not an issue, go for it, otherwise wait.
