what are detail drawings in engineering?
i.e. the purpose, function etc
Detailed drawings are exactly what they say they area - drawings with detail on.
Suppose you are building a residential tower block here are some examples of what might be detailed drawings:
Each floor will have a basic layout, the detail drawings will include wiring routes, pipe routes, where to put sockets and water outlets and so on
The steel framework will be drawn but the detailed drawing will show things like bolt positions in the steel for joints
The overall outline of the building will be drawn but detailed drawings might be made of the door ways and any 'fancy' brickwork
Basically any drawing where more detail is needed. Often these drawings will contain the outline drawing and then the detail drawn in a larger scale - so you can see the detail more easily.
