WHat is the difference between manual engineer drawing and autocad ?

what is the convenience, speed, safeguards required, financial outlay, quality of output and storage issues. for autocad and manual engineer drawing.

thank you :)
in the production and presentation of graphical information.
well thanks but i knew that alreadt, im asking for the difference in speed, convenience, safeguards requried, financial outlay the quality of output and storage issues.

i'm not asking what manual drawing and cad is .

CAD Benefits:
- Produced Electronically so is able to be stored, e-mailed, and so on electronically. This can mean the drawing is safer than paper copies (office fire....)
- Email means the drawing can be worked on by several people in several locations, in fact it could be worked on 24 hours a day (European, US, Asia, Europe all 8 hours working day apart)
- Speed to produce a range of drawings with small changes, manual drawing required each one to be redrawn, electronically, just click "save as" and make the changes
- modifications and corrections - faster and easier since the old does not have to be rubbed out or cut from the drawing
- reproduction is quicker, hit "Print" rather than taking the drawing to a specialist graphics reproduction company
- layers, one drawing can be used for many things, say a house, 1 layer for the plumber, 1 for the electrician, 1 for the joiner and so on, each can be hidden (not printed) so one drawing can be produced for everyone
- Accuracy, can be drawn to very accurate limits
- 3D
- Blocks or drawing symbol templates make repeated drawing of object easy, even on other drawings, copy and paste instead of redrawing
- Plotting only areas of detail on a drawing where required

- Finance, it is cheaper to set up an old drawing board (£5000 for CAD station, £1000 for drawing board) however the speed benefits will pay this back in a couple of months

- Safeguards
- electronic format is easier to store in several locations so data loss is easier to protect against
- Electronic copies can be stolen a lot more easily - USB pen drive can hold up to and more than 1000 drawings - to steal that many paper copies would be noticed (about 5 ot 6 A4 paper printer boxes to 1000 A0 drawings - much harder to carry out unnoticed)

- Quality
- Generally CAD produces a more consistent quality of output, Whole drawing offices can use the same fonts and identical looking drawing produced rather than relying on everyone having the same handwriting
