WINSPOOL.DLL Was Not Found?

A message came up when I was trying to install a game orginally meant for windows 95 on my vista.

WINSPOOL.DLL Was Not Found

When attempting to launch Orly’s Draw-A-Story™ (Stand-Alone) the following message appears: "This application has failed to start because WINSPOOL.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this."

I read this on a website:

This message occurs when attempting to launch the program in Windows® XP. Renaming the WINSPOOL.DRV file that is installed to the C:WINDOWSSYSTEM directory during the program installation should resolve this issue. Consult with the remainder of this technical note for more information and the procedure.

How can I do this with my vista?

Winspool.dll is related to Windows Spooler Driver.
winspool.dll is a renamed version of winspool.drv.

This error usually appears when you try to install/use an application not designed for Vista or Windows XP. A tweak would be to try to copy a winspool.dll from a Windows XP system to your computer. Or just rename the winspool.drv to winspool.dll, but first back-up winspool.drv as winspool.bak
