Which Processor is the best 2 buy now?OR what is the best time to busy a new processor?
Currently I am using pentium III n its only 700 Mhz, So i want to get a new CPU ,I am an engineering student usually i use CAD n CAm Application n play some Games n use to experiment with new OS like Linux N VIsta n the latest Stuff which on u think i should buy?
For the past several years the AMD Athlon 64s were the best and then the Athlon 64 X2s. Intel has recently introduced the Core 2 Duo which is better than the AMD chips in just about every way; but they are in short supply and the Athlon 64 X2s are readily available at very good prices. Any of these chips will be a tremendous improvement on your 700 Mhz pentium III. Make sure to get 2 GB of memory and a good video card and you'll be happy with the Athlons or Core 2 Duo.
The Core 2 Duo is very efficient and doesn't dissipate much heat, the Athlon 64 X2s are available in three efficiency levels ranging from 35 watts up to I believe 89 watts.
