Help me choose pieces for my portfolio?

I am in engineering and we are required to complete 2 options over the course of our degree. I have taken AP Art, so I was hoping to skip one option. If this is allowed, I may need to show my portfolio as proof, so I was thinking I would collect about 6 or 7 pieces that relate most to engineering. I think sticking to pencil and pencil crayon would be best, and the ones that require the most technical drawing, because we do a lot of technical drafting anyways. Any input is appreciated! A portfolio should never be less than 10 pieces, and seldom more than 14.

The purpose of a portfolio is to display your skill and versatility.

Looking at your link, it's not very impressive, although you have a GOOD grasp of color and value. But, wadded up cloth is not very impressive as a presentation of your skills. The dancer WIP shows some very wonky anatomy, with the uncolored leg looking decidely shorter than the other. Also, the arms look very unrealistic. Try to stand with your arms in that position, and you'll see what I mean.

Since you are in engineering, you should have at least 1-2 still lifes showing your skills at rendering angles and precise edges, and at least 1 building interior to show you can render distance perspective. An outdoor architectural drawing wouldn't hurt either.
