I want to get drawing software that enables you to draw something in two demtional first (read details)?
then turns it into a 3 demetonal figure that you can give detail to basically you know drawing programs like Gimp i want to find something similar to that but lets you turn your 2D drawings into 3D drawings. Anyone know anything like that?
The controls over 3D are much different than 2D and 2D leaves a lot of stuff out that is needed in 3D. There are various ways of editing 3D representations on 2D video screens and I find most of them frustrating. To make a 3D surface, you have to divide it up into triangles so you can pull and push on them to make a 3D surface. Some expensive software will interpret shading on a drawing or painting as indicators of depth, but then you still have to work with it a lot.
Everything I have encountered says you would be better off learning and working in a 3D program from the start, even if you drew in one plane (2D) because it would have all the handles needed for pulling/pushing later.
