what is engineering drawing
what does 2xM12x1.75 stand for in an engineering drawing?

The dimension is regarding a threaded hole which I do not know the diameter of. I am sure it is one of the numbers above.

There are 2 holes, threaded, with the major diameter of 12 millimeters, and a thread pitch of 1.75 mm per turn.

Difference between English, or SAE, or "inch" dimensions is that we measure the number of turns in an inch, and they measure the actual distance from thread to thread.
