system computer installation and maintanance?
A very experienced design engineer working on petrochemical plant design has been on an Autocad course. The projects she works on involve 3D drawing of very completex pipe work, etc.During the course of the next year, she will employ two assistants to computerize the existing paper drawing and to use Autocad themselves, so she needs three new networked PCs to run Autocad. The application requires that large amounts of data are stored and that the hidden line removal and other performance critical function in Autocad are used to full effect. So,what type of computer she should choose and why?
You should contact Autocad and ask them about this. They have a discussion group, but I could not easily find a phone number.
You need to make sure the graphics card in the PC is supported by the version of Autocad that you are getting. Below is a link that lists those. That could be the most important piece of equipment. I would recommend a dual core CPU and at minimum 2 Gig of RAM, probably more.
You should also look at a NAT storage device for the files and backing up the data.
