Why are dyslexics good at.... and bad at.... ?
Right another dyslexic question!! Why is it that i can paint a person almost picture perfect, do geometry with my eyes closed, solve practical problems and find solutions before anyone else, do technical drawing and see the answer and how things should be constructed before they are on paper and tell how people are feeling before anyone else seems to???? Yet i suck at maths, english, hand eye quardination, science(chemestry) not Anatomy funny enough, organisation never mind how hard i try and buisnes study (all that gross net mumbojumbo :)
The dyslexic brain is denser, has more of a developed frontal lobe, more connections made. It is heavier. An underactivity is found in Wernicke's area which shows dyslexics to have difficulty with decoding, phonics, orthographic symbols making letter sound correspondance difficult. This is why you suck at English
You learn by chunking whole material this is why you can solve problems before anyone else, because your brain is skipping steps.
Dyslexics tend to think in pictures that is why the working model in your brain is as good as a physical model. This thinking in pictures is also why you can paint almost picture perfect.
Sucking at hand eye coordination-dyslexics have a slightly dysfunctional cerebellum, the ratio of grey matter from left to right is off, there is a decreased blood flow, causing clumsiness. This supports why a dyslexic would have a poor VMI score (son's score is 70) visual motor integration, the dx is usually dysgraphia, also why there would be a poor orthographic score
Most dyslexics have an eye problem-sucking at math this explains it. Its a lack of binocular fixation 75 percent of dyslexics have this. It can be oculomotor dysfunction, convergence asymmetry, eye teaming problems
Dyslexics have an overmaturation in Broca's Area 44 and 45
