Difference between AutoCad 2011 and AutoCad 2011 Architecture/Electrical/Mechanical?
I want to buy AutoCad, but there are so many versions. THEN, there is a version that appears to be just AutoCad (without any concentration such as electrical, mechanical, etc. Does that mean it has less features or all of the other feature combined?
AutoCAD has special drafting software for each industry. All are equally powerful, but each version is specific to the industry it was programmed for. The main differences in each AutoCAD software program are in the features included. Some examples of differences are: streamlined commands, blocks, editing and dimensioning tools.
Working with a specific version should make it easier for design and documentation for that discipline, compare to using the "regular" version of AutoCAD, which will do everything the others will but without the specialized bells and whistles of each.
Have a look at the links for a brief explanation of each.
