Hi I like to draw, but I don't wanna be animator
Why every art class that I took from technical/community college, leads into 3d Animation n game design? I just wanna be freelance comic book illustrator. Do you think having a software skills is require in any level? I mastering Adobe creative products such as photoshop, illustrator, in design.
But I have little interest to be an animator or game design. What kind of school and jobs that appropriate to me?
Thank You
look for schools that have illustration programs or sequential arts programs. I'm currently studying animation in school, and there is also a comic book and sequential arts program www.maxthemutt.com The name sucks but the school is amazing.
Search the internet for those types of things. The most important classes to have are life drawing, perspective, story development or script development and design and composition or even better composition for comic books.
Software skills are defiantly becoming more and more critical. Keep working with Adobe's software, really if you know that set you can switch to others pretty easily.
Meanwhile Don't completely dismiss the animation and game industry. Storyboarding is a critical part of both of those, which is essentially sequential arts. :D
